The Charmant Group
The Charmant Group has developed its business as an integrated Spectacle Frame and Sunglass manufacturer into a global enterprise and is now considered to be one of the leading eyewear companies worldwide.
The Group started out in 1956 as a manufacturer of spectacle parts. Through the development and improvement of its own original technology, Charmant then transformed itself into a general manufacturer of spectacle frames. In 1975, the first sales company was established and direct sales to major retail stores in Japan commenced. Charmant expanded its business overseas when it started exporting its products in 1980. Today, Charmant has a global presence with direct sales in eighteen countries, including nine overseas subsidiaries and vast distribution networks all over the world. Charmant's products are currently sold in more than one hundred countries worldwide.
Quality is ensured by manufacturing the majority of products in-house, using Charmant's very own equipment and advanced technology. The company insists on the highest standards in quality, design, technology and service, and was the pioneer of pure titanium frames, which it has been producing and marketing since the early 1980's and remains the world leader in this field.
With a mixture of Charmant's global sales network and advanced technology / innovation, Charmant's house brands Charmant, Aristar and Valmax are a big success and key part of the Charmant business. The Charmant Group has extensive expertise in marketing licensed brands such as ELLE and ESPRIT. As of July '06 it also starts to distribute a new LACOSTE eyewear collection in the US and other Americas, Asia and Oceania areas are to follow. In addition, CHRISTIAN ROTH, one of the most recognized eyewear brands among the worlds' celebrities, is also manufactured and marketed by the Group.
